Membership Details New members are always welcome. Fees are paid annually from when you first pay your membership to that time the following year. You will receive 4 issues of the club magazine 'Scribe', which includes reports of recent speaker meetings, literary events, members' news and successes; prose and poetry competitions run within the club, and publication of winning entries. Entry to monthly, quarterly and some annual competitions require one 1st Class postage stamp per entry, unless competition details state otherwise and members will receive a short critique of their entry for guidance; the judge's decision is final and discussions cannot be entered into. Free entry to all speaker and manuscript meetings (unless notified of a special event, where tickets will be sold to members at a reduced rate). Information on external competitions and events when available. Social events are held twice a year: the first Wednesday in August (when only one meeting is held), and the first Wednesday in December where trophies and/or book tokens are presented to winning competition entrants. Not all writers will find a large group suits them, so we always suggest you try out a few of our meetings as a visitor before joining. We charge just £1.50 for this. Attendance at meetings is not obligatory (though we hope you will want to keep coming back) and realise that members have a lot of demands upon their free time. So if you find you can't attend, or only get to a few meetings, you will be pleased to know you can still enter competitions by post, and receive feedback on work at Manuscript evenings. PLEASE USE THE CONTACT FORM TO ASK FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
