It’s time for our fourth Friday meeting at the Nottingham Mechanics. We meet in the Boardroom on the first floor.
During the first half, 1 pm to 2.30 pm, there’s an opportunity to read your work for constructive feedback, ask questions, and chat to other writers. Alternatively, you can buy lunch and a drink in the Mechanics restaurant between midday and 2 pm.
This month, we’re focusing on punctuation during the second half of the meeting (2.30 pm onward).
September is an ideal time to take up membership, it’s £18 a year. (Please use the contact form for more details).
Don’t forget to bring along something to write with, as we have fun exercises that will get you and your mind, working with words.
Meeting fee: visitors £5, members £3.
For our May meeting at the Nottingham Mechanics we’ll be following our newly introduced format.
From 1 pm members and visitors can get-together in our meeting room to read out work, talk about writing issues and generally get to know your fellow writers.
Alternatively, buy your lunch and a drink down on the ground floor in the Mechanics restaurant, before the 2.30 pm session begins.
This month, for our main session, we’re focussing on last lines- one of the topics requested by members earlier this year. Plenty of scope here…
As we pay for the room, this meeting does incur a small charge. Members:£3, and non-members: £5.
Bring pen, paper, and any electronic device you white with- but please make sure it has enough battery for the afternoon.

We’re introducing a few new features for 2023. If you’d like to come along and try our sessions before deciding on membership, it only costs you £5 per meeting.

We have our new ten minute get to know you at the start of each session. Manuscript reading and feedback, along with a focus topic.
And as Christmas is moving closer, we’ll have an Xmas related writing exercise.
This is our last Friday meeting of the year, and the dates for our 2023 programme will be added in the New Year.
